We host a variety of events each year to bring people downtown to explore our vibrant district. Check out our annual events below!

Flower Basket Program

Baskets are hung May - October downtown and our dedicated volunteers help set up, tend to, and remove these baskets each year.

Bee Ridiculous Day

A day full of fun, games, and deals! Fun for the whole family.

Treasures Tour

Your chance to check out what repairs and restorations have been completed this year and see what exciting things are coming down the road.

Haunt the Block

Come downtown for trick-or-treating at local businesses.

Holiday Stroll

Get into the holiday spirit by strolling through the Festival of Trees, checking out the light displays, seeing Santa, or doing some early holiday shopping. 

Adopt A Veteran

Shop for a veteran who may not have family to share the holiday season with this year. MCBD will ensure the gifts are delivered to the Iowa Veteran's Home so that the veterans have gifts to open this holiday season.

MCBD has partnered with the Marshalltown Public Library to celebrate Dia dos Ninos / Dia de los Libros (Children's Day / Book Day) which celebrates the importance of books and reading in the lives of children in our community.
