The Cartwright pavilion was donated by the Cartwright family to the City of Marshalltown. The Marshalltown Parks and Recreation Department oversees the property located at 108 N 2nd Ave, Marshalltown, IA 50158. The Marshalltown Central Business District presented and was approved by the City Council to develop a pilot program for a food truck park. The goal of the MCBD Pilot Program is to enhance this portion of the Downtown district by revitalizing the pavilion area to offer a fresh and invigorating experience for our community.
Our aim is to offer competitive and diverse food options through hosting 3 food trucks (for now) on Sundays and Mondays Tuesdays to help fill the gap of dining options in the downtown area when several of our brick and mortar restaurants are taking a very deserved day off. We are also looking into offering the community other atmosphere and entertainment enhancements through the use of the MCBD Bandshell to provide live music, having yard games present during the Food Truck Park hours of operation, and partnering with other organizations and non-profit programs to utilize this shared space. The hours of the Food Truck Park work in conjunction with the Cartwright Farmers Market which is held on Wednesdays from 4-7pm and Saturdays from 9am-12noon.
We are currently accepting applications for Food Trucks. If you are interested in being part of our Pilot Program for the 2024 Season please complete the form here.
Currently the Food Truck Park is set for a soft open on Sunday June 30th.
Hours of Operation are: Sunday: 11 am - 2 pm Food Trucks may open earlier or stay later during those days.
