Our AffiliationsMCBD is affiliated with Main Street America which connects us to a network of 40 programs across the country representing 1,200+ communities. We're also affiliated with Main Street Iowa which provides our businesses with access to training workshops, architectural and design guidance, business support, and other technical assistance opportunities.
All of this is possible thanks to the continued financial investment in MCBD from individuals, businesses, organizations, and the city of Marshalltown. |
Deb Millizer, Executive DirectorMarshalltown Central Business District (MCBD)
Deb. born and raised in Mystic, Iowa, spent much of her childhood on main street (or the "slab" as they called it). In 1988, Deb relocated to the Marshalltown area and grew her family of four to 13 members in total. Deb majored in Psychology, Human Services and Organizational Leadership from Buena Vista University. Prior to accepting the role of Executive Director with MCBD, Deb was a Family Safety Risk and Permanency Supervisor serving Marshall and surrounding counties.
Downtown Marshalltown is not only the heart of Marshalltown but the heart of Marshall county. When the downtown thrives, the community thrives, and it ripples to surrounding communities. Deb is focused on helping Marshalltown's downtown district thrive and become a place where people want to dine, shop, play, and stay. |
