The MCBD has partnered with the Marshalltown Public Library for a Storybook Walk April 1-May 4 through the downtown to celebrate Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day) a celebration of the importance of books and reading in the lives of all children in our community.
Several different book covers will be posted in downtown businesses allowing families and friends to discover new books as they walk downtown visiting the businesses while promoting literacy.
Participants can get printed copies from the Marshalltown Public Library (phone number 641-754-5738, ext. 3 youth desk website www.marshalltownlibrary.org) to fill in the first two words of the titles of the books located at each business. Fill in 15 titles get a free book and one entry into the Grand Prize drawing. Fill out all 35 and get additional entries into the Grand Prize drawing.
Turn in your completed Story Walk sheets to the youth desk at the public library by May 4th for a free book, and a chance to win bigger prizes! The winners will be notified by May 6th.
