Why Invest?
Marshalltown is a community made up of belivers and doers like you. And at the heart of it all is our historic downtown. The volunteer MCBD has served our city for more than 18 years to improve and beautify the downtown district, support our local businesses and to organize and attract events that make downtown a welcoming place in our community, but we need your help to sustain the mission.
2020 has been a challenging year as we face continued recovery from the tornado, COVID-19, and the derecho in August. The pandemic has changed the look of some of our favorite programs and events, but at the MCBD we continue to find ways to support and promote our downtown.
We hope you have enjoyed following along with us this year as we hightlight local businesses and all the great progress as we continue to rebuild our historic downtown, provided information on business changes during COVID, and played along with us hunting for Marshall the Bee.
In addition to the visible events, your investment in the downtown allows the MCBD to help our downtown building and business owners secure grant funding from state and local sources. Your generous contribution also provides downtown business owners with access to small business and retail resources, live training and technical support from Main Street Iowa experts. All of this helps keep our historic downtown businesses both strong and beautiful
